Troy-bilt lawnmower!?

I just bought a new lawnmower it's a troy-bilt with a honda engine. It's a 3n1 push mower with a bagger. My mom bought the same mower about 3 years ago, and my brother brutalizes it (it mows about 1.5 acres each mow with tons of rocks) which made me want one after I ran it a little. How good is this particular deck/engine combo? I bought the same mower as my mom because it has lasted 3 years, but is that just a fluke or are the mowers really that good? Before the honda she has worn out a briggs or teseh mower to the tune of about one every year or two, and I backed over the back guard on my last briggs mower and locked the blade up...bending the shaft and destroying it. I will never buy a briggs again unless forced to! It was less than 2 years old! Are troy bilt decks good? Are the honda engines good compared to what you could afford in the same price range in a briggs or anything else? I was actually wanting an old lawnboy....2-stroke but couldn't find one! They are "the" best
