Why do black models need to go to Paris in order to have a better chance at getting a modeling job?

On the Tyra Banks Show, Tyra said something I found interesting. She said "Black models go to Paris all the time because the french are more accepting of black beauty." Tyra's mother than said " Imagine going to a job interview and being turned down, because you are black" Is White America still stuck on this? I always thought that models mainly go to paris because it is a an uber chic fashion capital. But The real reason black models go to paris is because the french are more likely to give a black model a job than the white people of America. How sad do people get? That's pitiful. Basically in America, i am considered ugly and unfashionable unless i am a white woman. It makes you wonder why should black people buy the products of some of these fashion companies, when the companies actually believe that only white women are pretty and only white women should wear their products. I personally would not buy a product from someone that is basically calling me ugly to my face. If black people complain about this in your face hatred, the whites then say " Oh, see, black women have bad attitudes and are always angry, that is why we do not want to work with them. We are not racist, we just want what is best for the company." So I should smile and put on a party hat when someone insults me to my face? If you call a white woman "ghost" or "morgue fresh" or insult their skin tone it would be all over the news, but its ok for white people to insult black people? I for one am not investing my money in the fashion industry, an industry that basically is calling me ugly because i am a black woman.
